I bought this car from their internet sales team directly dealing with Mr Marty Pollack. He said "it was a 1 owner showroom condition car with no prior accidents/ clear carfax". At one point he told me that the car was the dealership owners relatives car and at another point in price negotiations he said that they could not budge on the price as that was the amount they had invested in the car from buying it at auction". I asked if it came with 2 sets of keys he said "Yes". I received 1 key and a broken remote. They said it was in pristine condition. It has a good size dent in the passenger door as if it was slammed open into a wall or something, there are scratches all over the car, there is blatantly obvious overspray in multiple areas on the car. The passenger doors have been painted, poorly; there are fisheyes and debris in the paint. There is paint on the tail pipes, and on the chrome trim on the front and rear of the car. The passenger headlight is out of place, pinched up against the hood. There is black grease in multiple spots in the interior from where it looks like they removed at least the front doors from the car and did something with them, including breaking the wood trim along the passenger door. There was a button that was visibly broken in the pictures, I mentioned it and Marty told me that it went into the shop and was replaced. That was the reason that the car was delayed 4 days from the time it was set to ship. Once the funds were transferred to the dealer all contact was lost and no one was available that knew anything about the car. It was supposed to ship on Thursday the 19th of Aug. 2010 the day the funds cleared, at which point the car would have been delivered on the 23rd of Aug. 2010. I spoke to Marty on Friday. He told me that it would ship on the next day. Well the next day I called and no one knew what I was talking about. They said that I needed to talk to someone that wasn't there. I called on Sat. and Sun. and still heard nothing. Monday I called and got a salesman who said he could see the car sitting outside his office but did not know anything about it. Finally Tues. the shipping company contacted me letting me know the delivery date was to be Friday the 27th of Aug. 2010, well after a few conversations with the driver the car finally arrived on Mon. the 30th of Aug 2010. I met the driver at a drop point to pick up the car and immediately I noticed the dent in the passenger door from 20 feet away while it was still on the upper lever of the trailer. I spoke with t he driver; he said "yea I know" "I inspected the car with the sales team before taking it". He and the salesman did a walk around on the car noting the multiple exterior flaws. The salesman signed the car over and initialed the driver's annotations. When I called the dealer before accepting the car and spoke to this salesman(Marty Pollack) he told me that he was not aware of any damages on the car or any work that had been done to the car. But yet he signed it over to the driver and did the walk around with the driver seeing the more than obvious defects(shady). I had a question about the sales contract that was faxed to me and Marty said I should speak to the director(Joe Diaz) Well I could hear this plain as day through the phone. Quote" Hey Joe I have a guy that needs to talk to you about his contract", Joe replied "What the fuck does he need to know, it's right there in black and white?" At that point I hung up. 15 minutes later Marty calls me back and started go ing back into contract. I told him I had heard enough and I would find out what I needed to know. He said so what's the problem. I replied I heard your conversation with Joe quite clearly. He said "maybe you misunderstood". I said no I heard it quite clearly, He asked what did you hear, I repeated it back to him, he then exclaimed that "I didn't need to talk with him anyway that guy is an asshole." I said I had heard enough and that I would take care of it myself. This is the point where trying to reach anyone was impossible, "they're out", "with a customer", "will call you right back", "out on vacation". I have spent the entirety of the day today trying to reach Mr. Joe Diaz (exclaimed internet sales director) and I was lied to on multiple times about his whereabouts. The first time I reached Marty by blind luck and he said "let me let you talk to him he's right here talking with a customer", then I heard Marty say "hey Joe this guy with the Cadillac has a problem". Joe replied "what does he want" Marty replied " there some damage on the Cadillac and he's there with the delivery guy." Joe replied "I don't want to talk to him." Marty then asked "What do you want me to say to him?" Joe replied "tell him something and that I'll call him back." Marty then told me "that he was mistaken Joe is not here and that he should be back in an hour and hell call me then." I waited an hour and a half and called back getting another salesman (Wonnell Godfrey)who told me that Joe was in his office and he would transfer me. Salesman (Jim Riger) answered the phone and responded "that Joe was with a customer, he'd call me back", the salesman took my phone # and all. I said okay. I waited another Hour, and called back, again I was told that "Joe was out and that he'd be back at 5:30pm their time and that they would have him call me". I waited until 6:00pm their time and called back and I was told that he was gone for the day. I have scoured the web and there is no indication that anyone named Joe Diaz is employed with Lipton Toyota. I really did not want to have to go through this. But this is shameful. I received not one piece of paper other than the delivery dr iver's inspection sheet(no sales contract, no nothing). There are no tags temp. or otherwise on the car and I have no way of getting them either. Tomorrow I will attempt to climb the Toyota ladder in hopes of an easier way to handle this. Oddly they never bothered asking what my profession is but they will find out real quick. I will file with the Attorney General, BBB, Toyota JP corporate and will write to the CEO of Toyota JP about the practices of this dealership. Oddly someone in my office is fluent in Japanese. Last but not least "we" will file a lawsuit as we have all the original documents of the vehicle listing and my phone records are easily available. I would warn all to stay away from this dealership at all costs. I understand that they may not be so brazen and dishonest to one's face but, it's just not worth the risk. . . This is clear cut example of the greed and corruption that plagues the car sales industry, and oh look at them shine, The Presidents award years running I guess I understand how they keep their number's up.
