My wife and I drove to your dealership after discussing the purchase of a Prius via internet/phone. Just prior to driving to your showroom, on our last phone conversation with Westchester, we had reached an agreement of $28,500 for the Blue 2010 IV model with Leather and Solar/moon roof etc. You had put me on hold and checked with your Mgr, a Mr. David Shue, verified the price and said YES, you would sell it for $28,500. You also told me that you had our model there at your location, so we could come and buy it. I was very satisfied and told you that my wife and I would be down shortly to buy our new 2010 Prius. I had done a considerable amount of research during the day and knew this was a good deal. I even canceled my deposit with another dealer for the same car further out of town to come buy it at your Dealership. I confirmed with you that there were no hidden fees to be added to the $28,500 sales price, just DMV & Taxes and you said yes, I asked you this once again to make sure and you confirmed with me that just Tax and DMV would be added to the $28,500 sales price. My Wife and I arrived, blank check in hand, and we were introduced to Mr. David Shue and that's when the horror began. First we were told that you didn't have our Blue Prius in stock, but would have to get it from another location or warehouse. We were still ok at that point, as that was only a minor disappointment, Then, after about 20 minutes,. Mr. Shue dropped a bomb shell on us. He said that there were "other" Dealer fees that had to be added to the sales price, that weren't part of Toyota's original agreement with me. I told him that violated our agreement and that this "new" offer would not be acceptable, since it was a bait and switch. He tried to white wash the additional fees by saying that its common and/or customary etc. but I was having no part of this, since it was a lie. I began to see that the purpose of making the phone agreement with me was to get us into the showroom, and that your offer over the phone was false. ! I gave David the chance to recant and honor his/your original agreement and David checked with his Mgr., I don't know who that was, then David came back and said that he could not sell me the car at the price we agreed upon over the phone- $28,500 plus Tax and DMV. I told him that I was lied to by Toyota employees, that is Cherie Brown & himself, and that I would never be back to his showroom again. I also said that I would tell others of my experience with your Dealership. What I have written Cherie, as you know, is true. I don't blame you, I'm not upset with you, but I want to let you know one thing: In business or even in life; Always Deliver What You Promise; Always Keep Your Word! That's my advice for what it's worth. I will be contacting Toyota and telling them my story and I hope that you're honest with them and tell them the same story; because it is the truth.

I went to Westchester Toyota to look for a car. I liked the Scion and asked the salesman if the car came with Daytime Running Lights; I told him this was very important to me and if the car didn't come with them, I wasn't interested and it would be a deal breaker. He told me the car did and I bought the Scion for $21,000. I also asked for a very specific type of alarm (I was told it was available) and when I asked about the security cover for the hatch, was told it was $155 and if they had one, they would give it to me. I picked up the car on October 7, 2008, and the alarm was not what I asked for. I was told that the alarm I wanted was not available and another alarm was installed, without even consulting with me to find out if I still wanted the alarm. After a back-and-forth "discussion" with Toyota, I was given a year's free service to pacify me. I also was also told the hatch cover was not $155, but $269 and the floor mats were $155. And since I left the dealership after dark, I had on regular headlights and didn't realize the car didn't have the Daytime Running Lights. On Saturday, October 11, 2008, the first time I had the car out during the day, I realized that the car didn't have the Daytime Running Lights. I called Toyota and spoke to Fabio, the Scion manager. I told him flat out since I was lied to about not only the lights but misinformed about a lot of others things, I wanted my money back or I wanted to be compensated for the "lies" I was told. Fabio told me if I returned the car, I would take a huge loss because once the car leaves the lot, it is considered "used" and I told him this was unacceptable because I would not have bought the car if the salesman hadn't lied to me about the lights. I was told to come back on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 to speak with him (Fabio) again as well as the Toyota dealership manager (Anson). On October 14, 2008, I spoke with Anson and Fabio and told them my complaints (the mats and alarm were minor but the Daytime Running Lights was the main problem) and told them I wanted to return the car for full price or else be compensated in some way for all the lies I was told. Anson's response was since the Daytime Running Lights and specific alarm were not on the bill of sale, I really had no case. I told him I wouldn't be going through all this aggravation if I hadn't been very direct about what I wanted. Anson told me he would get to me in a few days and on October 17, 2008, I was told the answer was no. I informed him I no choice but to make a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. After making the complaint, I informed Anson that the complaint was made and if he wanted me to drop the complaint, Toyota had to take the car back. He came back to me with a price of $15,000, $6,000 less than a paid for the car. The car was three weeks old, less than 500 miles and he wanted me to take a $6,000 loss. He also kept telling me he couldn't do anything until I got the title, which he said took 45 days; I told him I that when I got the title, the car would be older with a few more miles on it. I told him I would drop the complaint if they gave me back my money. I also told him I was willing to meet him halfway - $21,000 for the new car, $15,000 was what he offered and I would take $18,000. I wanted nothing more to do with Westchester Toyota and would take some loss to end my dealings with them. I gave Westchester Toyota the courtesy of letting them know I had also made a complaint against them with Consumer Affairs. He said he would see what he could do once again and never got back to me. When I called him back, I informed him that I would continue making complaints about Westchester Toyota until this matter was settled to my satisfaction. Dealerships that lie to customers to make a sale need to be brought to task. And I'm now stuck with a car that I wouldn't have bought in the first place unless someone is able to help me. As mentioned above, I'm willing to negotiate some sort of settlement with Westchester Toyota but due their lies, I shouldn't be forced to take a $6,000 loss.

Complaint filed with Toyota. Toyota Response: Was offered $15,000 for a $21,000 car that was less than two weeks old and less than 500 miles. Please see above for more information. This was only after telling them that if we don't come to a better settlement I was going to continue placing complaints. I was told nothing could be done until I got the title, which could take 30 to 45 days but that would make the car "older" with "more miles". I told them that we could negotiate a price now, get something in writing and then when I got the title, return the car.

after returning a leased matrix, i was socked with all kinds of charges for excessive wear and tear. No problem, i was assured; these expenses could be amortized into my new toyota's lease terms. after agreeing to a ridiculous down payment and monthly lease fee - i was after all, paying for two leases - i went home with my new vehicle. a month later, i was informed by toyota's financial arm that no such arrangements had been made by westchester toyota. i was billed for all the money i owed for excessive ware and tear plus charged late fees and penalties even though the car was returned on time. i'm now stuck paying 425 a month for a rav 4 after putting $2,500 down...and i have perfect credit!

Complaint filed with Toyota. Toyota Response: they are suing me to obtain more money.
